![]() Ektelon Powerplay 16 String
|
Comments: I love this stuff! Enormously! I've used it for a good many years now, and once I did a comparison between this string and Gosen OG Sheep, Gamma Gut 2, and Prince Original Syn Gut. . . and the Prince Syn Gut Soft/ Ektelon Power Play was by far better, to me, at least. I feel the softness here, but it seems more durable than a multi. At this price, I recommend buying a pack and seeing if it's for you. I hope Prince keeps manufacturing this stuff, and perhaps drops the price back down to where it used to be, about $3.99 a pack. Heck, why not go back to the original name that everybody knows it by?
Comments: I just strung this string up in my racquets. I love it! Very soft on the arm, strings don't move as much as other synthetic gut strings, great playability and spin potential! Overall my favorite string so far!
Comments: I am a baseline player that hits very hard, with a lot of spin. I've been
experimenting with different entry level synthetic guts, looking for the best durability. Since a
string usually only lasts me about 2-3 hours, I'm not willing to shell out the extra bucks for a
newly released string. I've used Head and Prince leading brand synthetics and wanted to try
something different. A friend of mine ordered some of this stuff and gave me a set. Since it's
labelled as a soft string, I increased my tension by a pound. I expected it to break qicker than
usual, but it still outlasted Head (2 hours). Out of all the string I have tried during recent
months, this one hits the top of the list. I'm now using 15g strings (more durability), but this
is one of the best feeling synthetics around.
Comments: Well this string lasted a lot longer than I expected it to. But I don't
really feel the softness at all. Prince Synthetic
Gut with Duraflex feels softer to me than this string. The string also doesn't give me the feel
that I want.
Comments: This is a very soft feeling string, and very easy to string. I wanted
longer lasting strings, but full polyester hurt my arm too much. I ended up using poly on the
mains, and the Ektelon Powerplay on the crosses, and the combination works out great. I
have now used this combination with a few other people, all have liked this so far.
Comments: This string has the advantage of being a solid core which means it
holds tension better than multifilaments but still is soft on the arm. I really like the feel of a
soft string but my wallet likes it even better since it only costs $4 a set. I say try it because of
the soft feel and low price. I have used this string before when it was labeled Prince Syn Gut
Soft 16. It feels even more soft now then it did a few years ago. Strung in a Wilson Pro Staff
Tour 90 @ 68lbs.
