Dunlop synthetic gut 16gI like Dunlop strings. I bought this string to try it on the Prince Phantom 100 Pro racquet (Flex rating 55). The string plays well. I might also try the Dunlop Silk (string stiffness 131, soft multifilament) for added comfort. The Dunlop Silk is on my Pro Staff mid 85 and Yonex 90 (RDX). It has done well. You may break it more often, but worth the string softness.

Below averageThis string won’t last long. This string is averaging about 8-12 hours of hitting time(moderate play/coaching) before it snaps. The most recent one snapped in 4 mains. Playability is okay, plays best in the first few hours then loses a lot of tension. Will probably use this string for a hybrid. 4.5 player.

Poor quality--snaps on stringerI am astounded at the lack of quality in this string. When I was stringing a racquet with this string, one of the cross strings snapped as I was pulling tension. So I then redo the frame as a two piece (preserving the mains), have to pause for a bit as I'm finishing, then return to find that now the mains have snapped. I then look at a racquet I did before this one (just hours before--which was fine when I completed it), and I come to find out that they snapped at some point after finishing too. I've been stringing tennis racquets for players at my local club for several years now and have never had this happen with a set of string. I'm appalled and will be certain never to buy this string again.

RelaxIt's just a syn gut. We're not trying to reinvent the wheel. Apples to apples, it gets the job done. But the better your skill set, the less you'll want to put this in the mains. Great for crosses if you're not above a 4.0.

Dunlop S-GutSame experience as Ed (see below). Used it many times as a cross in hybrid setups. Lately string snaps at 54 lbs and now at 48 lbs as I'm stringing! Maybe a bad batch?!

Comments: I am a pro stringer, and I have been stringing quite a bit of Dunlop Synthetic S-Gut because it is softer than most others, and I think more appropriate for a lot of my clientele than stiffer strings like Prince Duraflex. A couple minutes ago, I was stringing up a Pure Drive with the Dunlop Synthetic S-Gut and the main string I anchored my crosses to snapped while I was half done with the crosses. I've been stringing for 30 some odd years, and can't even remember the last time I have had this happen. So, I looked at the packaging for a date code just in case I have a bad batch, and that is when I noticed that this set of string that broke was made in Vietnam. The remainder of my stock all says Vietnam, but all the previous stock was from China. I guess I'm done with Dunlop Synthetic Gut.

Comments: At first I thought it was very soft switching from Prince Poly. But I became used to it. Can barely miss and can hit off shots landing right on the line. I string at 53 lbs. Quality power and control. Very arm friendly due to its softness. Moves a bit but not much.

Comments: I was very pleased with the performance of this string. It is in my Blade 104 v7 at 57 pounds. There was very little string movement and it felt really good on groundstrokes and at the net. For the price, it's hard to beat.

Comments: This is not a bad string, really cost effective. Holds tension well for synthetic Gut. My issue is it moves a lot even for a multi. It moves more then any other string I have used. My main 2 frames the Wilson Pro Staff 97LS And the Prince Worrier 100 have slightly more open string patterns and that can account for some movement but my 3 other frames are all 16x19 and have the same issue of a lot of string movement and I have all frames at there max of 60 lbs. But even with this it still has good durability. I have used Prince and Volkl Synthetic gut most of my 7 years in tennis and I think they have a little better overall playability for only a $1 more.

Comments: I play Varsity tennis for my High School and was trying to find a string I really liked. This string is probably the best synthetic gut I have ever tried. However, you really get what you pay for with this one. The durability lasted me about 20 hours of intense playtime. The topspin on the ball is excellent, but i did not feel like I was getting a ton of power on my shots. My slices were excellent, but not very controlled. Overall, if you are not playing competitively and are just looking for a string for leisure, go with this string. If you play intense tennis like me, I suggest switching to a polyester string like Dunlop Ice or Kirschbaum Pro Line.

Comments: I'm not a hybrid guy, but lately, I've been having issues with a sore elbow. I've been very reluctant to go away from having to use a co-poly in my string bed so the only option it seemed was to go with some kind of a cross that would be arm friendly but would allow for spin. This is the perfect cross string! Paired with Black Widow 17g, for the first time in months I am not needing arm support, and have no need to string low. I play with a 16x18 frame and this string at 56 lbs and Black Widow at 59 lbs which gives me more than enough pop, spin, and power that I need with great control. My advice though would be to let the strings settle in for a day before playing or it will feel a little stiff. But after that, let it rip!

Comments: Came back to syn-gut after going crazy with polys over the summer! So far these strings haven't bothered my arm. They have a semi-soft feel, good control, a little above average spin, and don't move very much. I strung these at 53 lbs in a 1 piece set-up. Also these are the yellow ones and think I will try the black or white next time. Senior 4.0 player, strung in Babolat stick

Comments: This is a very arm-friendly and soft string. It's an excellent, economic string for those learning how to string their own racquets, especially if you have a drop-weight stringer. It provides lots of pop and decent spin.

Comments: Fantastic stuff for a cross string in a hybrid, especiallywith Black Widow 17G in the mains (my setup is 50/52 lbs). It's easy to string, with good feel and great playability for the price. Best of all, the sound the ball makes coming off of the strings. This is a great buy and highly recommended from a 5.0 Babolat-sponsored teaching pro.

Comments: I love this stuff. It has a good soft feel, durability isn't terrific but better than some. It is my favorite synthetic so far.
