+ Demo Racquet

Updated for 2013, Gearbox eliminated all paint from the Solid 1.0 frame and incorporated sharp new decals. By eliminating the weight from paint, they were able to include more graphite, further strengthening the racquet. With close specs to its blue brother, the Gearbox Solid 1.0 170g Quadraform gives you more forgiveness on off center shots with it's wider head shape and sweet spot.  Gearbox has added two new technologies in conjunction with their Solid Head and Proportional Frame designs.  New in the Solid 1.0 line are the Displacement Channels for improved structural integrity and maximum power and the new String Dimples, designed to reduce harsh string angles and improve frame durability.  The new cosmetics give these improved frames a fresh, contemporary look.

Comments: I demoed this racquet at the same time I demoed the GB 165Q (See my 165Q review for further detail). I had identical results with this racquet (positive and impressed). I did notice it was more difficult to swing through at the backhand corner with this racquet than the 165Q, but no complaints other than that!
