Overview

Gamma's Live Wire XP strings have long been known for their big comfort and easy power. With Ocho XP 16, Gamma moves the needle by adding a little spin to the equation. Boasting 8 grippy edges, this groundbreaking multifilament puts a extra grip on the ball, making it easier for the player to generate ball rotation. Doubles players looking for great feel around the net should like this one. Although seasoned polyester users will likely find Ocho too powerful for their explosive topspin mechanics, this string makes a very nice hybrid cross. All in all, this is a great option for any player who values comfort and power.

Best multi ever madeCan't say enough positive things about this string. Been using it for a year now and have put it in midsize to Oversize frames, it just plays fantastic in all of them. The softness of a multi, and near the same spin as a poly due to the 8 edges.

Previous Feedback

Comments: I had previously used the 16 gauge version of this string. I found this 17 gauge string to have many good characteristics. It was soft enough without being too springy. I had no issues with having to straighten the strings. I have it in my Blade 104 v7 at 57 pounds in a full bed. It really is a nice string.

Comments: Black Widow 18 gauge was beating me up a bit. A stinger in Scottsdale listened carefully to my previous favorites and Ocho XP 17 was his selection for me. This string gives a break to me and my arm. I like to play mixed doubles with it. The feel at the net is superior to my Black Widow. Kicking serves is easier at lower pace with this string than with the black poly. I have 3 identical Dunlop Aero Gel 300s -- two strung with Black Widow and one with Ocho. There is a big difference in power on shots hit outside the sweet spot toward the top of the stick. The black poly mishits from the baseline often make it back over the net sometimes as outright winners. Not so with Ocho, zero offense on mishits. As a fitness fanatic I like the Ocho on days when overuse or heavy weights have taxed my tendons before I hit the court. I leave the black string for days when my arm is 90% or better these days.
