Protection TapeBought HEAD's protection tape as I'd ran out of my old roll recently. Bought the tape on sale and use it strictly to cover all my tennis racquet frames. It goes on smoothly with no issues. The roll itself (16 feet length) lasts me several months as I only apply new tape after a re-stringing.

Easy to applyThe protection tape is easy to apply. You can peel off and re-apply the same tape if you don't do it right the first time or want coverage to be as even as possible.

Good for balancing racquets. If you buy this for protection, you'll be adding a lot of weight to your racquet. It's about 1.9g of extra weight per 10" of tape (without the backing ofc). If you use it to balance your mismatch weighted racquets, it's a cheaper and nice alternative. Looks good and provides some protection. Quality of the tape itself is good.

Head Tennis Racquet Protection TapeThe Head Tennis Racquet Protection Tape sticks really well. I like it better than the Wilson and Gamma protection tapes that I previously used. It reminds me of the Babolat protection tape which I used a long time ago.

DisappointedVery disappointed as I usually like Head products and think highly of their racquets and just about everything they make. The Gamma product is far better. Gamma Guard adheres better to the hi-resin plastic of a bumper guard which is what we are trying to protect to protect the racquet. Gamma Guard can take a much harder hit and scrap against a hard court without peeling back or ripping. The Gamma Guard is stiffer and doesn't mold to the racquet as easily but that is why it protects the frame better. Try Gamma Guard if protection is what you need and you will not be disappointed.

Comments: Bought two packs of these, it's a beautiful tape that is easy to apply and easy to take off as well. I bought it primarily for my junior player who tends to use his racquet like a soccer ball. I install the tape on the head of the racquet and go around till three quarters of the head, and do it every month when I string his racquets. It provides a good amount of protection.

Comments: I prefer HEAD brand head tape over Gamma head tape, because the HEAD product is much more flexible, substantial, and secure, whereas the GAMMA product seems to have a stiff cloth substrate that resists conforming to frames and the adhesive is weak. The edge of the HEAD tape does not separate from the frame, as is the case with the GAMMA product. I happened to have used the HEAD tape on some frames that were 10+ points head-light (Wilson K-Factor Pro Tours), and noticed that I was hitting more confidently because the HEAD tape is weighty and also provided some good dampening (I was using rubber band instead of dampener on the strings). Also, as my Pro Tours had a lot of surface area in the bumper guard area (they have busy plastic holes that go through to the frame, and have a yellow spot pattern), the HEAD brand tape really cut down on air resistance and its sleek black surface looks a lot nicer than the spotty pocked bumper guards, which I have never liked. Aside from the cosmetics, the HEAD tape works better than using lead tape because I feel a difference in driving a hard shot. I think the HEAD product has more rubber in the carrier layer (more plastic and less stiff fabric which means more malleability), and perhaps more rubber (expensive butyl?) in the adhesive. The HEAD product also protects the frame better if I accidentally make contact with the ground. I realize that these details are wordy, but there are reasons why so many of the reviewers here prefer the HEAD tape over the GAMMA tape and are willing to pay a little extra for a product that is definitely better in so many ways and is more than just tape. On the other hand, I won't mind if other manufacturers came out with similar quality tape and drove the price down.

Comments: Yes, this is nicer than Gamma. I've been using Gamma 1" head tape for years, but TW was out of stock so I ordered this Head version. I don't know if it will last any longer, but it is definitely a nicer look and much more malleable than the Gamma tape. It's probably worth that little bit more in price.

Comments: Great price! The quantity is good -- very sticky and does the job. I recommend it for everyone!

Comments: Great tape! I recommend applying it to the edge of the frame around the bumper guard to protect the paint and give it more support in case of hits that might damage the frame. Easy to apply, sticky, but it does add a TOUCH of head heaviness to the racquet if you do apply more than necessary.. could mess with your swing, but so far I have had great success with it and am more willing to attack the ball closer to the side wall.

Comments: I have just started using this tape, it's the best one ever for the price, it sticks excellent with no problems, covers the side of the frame with no bump or bends, it's super soft and smooth as well as durable. I used the Gamma brand for a very long time on different racquets, depending on the type of frame and specially the plastic of the covering grommets it has a 50/50 chance of sticking to a head frame or not, specially if the racquet frae is wet since I wash all my racquets before stringing them and it will not stick! But the Head tape has a glossy paper protection under the tape that you have to remove before sticking it the adhesive is very strong and sticks immediately, thanks to Head, that made my job easy. I will not recommend it to anyone to use!
