Great racquetYou can't go wrong with this one. Perfect balance. My arm doesn't hurt anymore when I play 3 time a week. Good combination of power and control. Needs to be re-strung to your desired tension if you don't like it at the 35 lbs that it comes with. Highly recommended. I'm an A level player.

Comments: This is the first gearbox racquet I purchased after playing with Prokennex for 5 years. This racquet is extremely well balanced, with great power and maneuverability. It required a slight adjustment at first as its a little more head heavy than the pk line, but once you find the sweet spot it feels like a weapon from anywhere on the court. As other have said, this is the perfect racquet to keep in your bag even when playing with the current GB sticks. Highly recommended.

Comments: I'm a "C-B" player. This racquet has good power and good sweet spot. I rented(demo) the 170 Dark Star and this racquet feels lighter. The agility of this racquet allowed me to beat an "A" player who hits the ball extremely hard and fast. Good racquet and will possibly buy a second one soon.

Comments: I'm a gear geek, having tried several high-end models from the likes of Head, E-Force and Ektelon over the past few years. I like to buy 2 racquets at a time and wanted to try Gearbox...just didn't want to shell out $500. A friend loaned me his GB 250 and I was sold when I saw the price here on RbW. Simple and straightforward without a lot of hype, I am loving this racquet and playing the best I've ever played. Power AND control are there and it just feels good in my hand. Plus, it looks supercool with the Ashaway Ultrakill green string I had put on when purchased.

Comments: An acquaintance let me try his Gearbox Green 165T. Nice but very light. I have had tennis elbow - the knife in the elbow at frequent, random times type. Decided to try the GB250. It was a little heavier, and mid-priced. It is still light, has decent power, good touch, and more importantly, zero vibration. I'm a Gearbox fan now. What's not to like about light weight, head heavy, low vibration racquets?

Comments: Read the reviews and decided to give this racquet a try. Absolutely LOVE it! While not the most powerful racquet that I've ever swung, it packs plenty of punch along with great feel. About the only negative is that during play the strings tend to slightly fan apart. So, if your OCD, this may not be the racquet for you, lol. Great racquet, great price, you will not be disappointed.

Comments: I've been playing for more than 30 years and play at an A level. I've been using Eforce for the past 20 years. Recently switched to this racquet to get more power. This is the best racquet I've ever played with. I string my own racquets and very happy to get away from the stupid stringing patterns on Eforces.

Comments: I bought this racquet over a year ago and I love it so much I just bought a second one as a backup.  It is durable even though wall beater guards don't cover the entire top of the raquet.  It allows for incredible power and placement.  The swing weight is light, which gives more power.  I can't say enough good things about this racquet.

Comments: I am an old #$%&.67.i played league the other night.i hit a down the line forehand and broke a new ball.the only racquet with the same power is the $270 eforce. But the gearbox has control and the eforce has none.

Comments: After playing with many different racquets and having more than my share of broken frames, I tried this one.  Seeing the price I didn't expect much.  Boy was I wrong.  For some of us, I'm sure we could play with a frying pan and it wouldn't matter but this racquet is certainly worth writing about.  Simple design, great power and awesome control.  No fancy gimmicks, paint jobs or stupid power boosters.  More often than not, more expensive doesn't mean better and this racquets proof of it.

Comments: This racquet is awesome! Extremely durable. Great weight. Plenty of power. Excellent control. Nothing fancy just great engineering. No gimmicks. I tried all other brands of racquets. I started playing with E-force but they were to delicate. This racquet is a beast. I'm embarrassed to say this but, one day I had a childlike tantrum on the court. I was soo frustrated. The only way to relieve the stress was to smash and break the racquet on the wall. I stormed over to the wall. Pulled my arm back and hit the wall with so much force my wrist hurt :[ The racquet survived with just a mark. That was years ago. Hasn't happened since. Whether you're a beginner or a top open player. Buy this racquet.

Comments: Bought this racquet without knowing much about it, other than the reviews here. Have always played Head but i'm tired of cracked frames. This racquet has very good construction and aesthetics, I love the matte black frame. Plenty of power but even better accuracy.  I can already tell it has improved my accuracy from the first game. No shoulder, elbow, or wrist pain whatsoever, and that's with a fully torn bicep tendon less than a year ago. I'm tempted to buy another one for a backup but I don't know that I'll need one. Give this stick a try, you won't be disappointed. And of course you can't go wrong with the awesome service and support from racquetballwarehouse.com!

Comments: I just played in a tournament.I wanted to be in b doubles or 65 b.Neither made.So I was put in a doubles with a guy I had never even met. Also I had only played 3 league games with this racquet before the tournament.I also have the ektelon white 170.The gearbox is considerably more powerful. We had no chance of winning, but we did win the last match in a tiebreaker.I never used drive z to the forehand before. With this racquet it was a really potent serve that enabled us to win.I highly recommend this racquet.

Comments: Never have been interested in Gearbox other than some cool commercials (i.e.. Gearbox "B")the specs on all the racquets appear to be insanely head heavy, which doesn't suit my game or arm for that matter. This racquet is close to balanced and just has a feel of solid quality about it. I'm hitting with more accuracy and power since switching and great maneuverability also. Please don't stop making a near even balanced racquet -it's an awesome tool for the ones of us who want the sweet spot of power and control with a dash of touch.

Comments: Bought his racquet after losing to Anthony Hererra and his partner in a tournament; Anthony was using the GB250 so I had to get it.  Great power and control from the first outing made me a Gearbox fan for life!  I highly recommend purchasing this racquet if you want more power, control and want to elevate your game. I recently upgrade to the Beltran 170T; however, I feel very comfortable knowing that the GB250 is in my bag as a backup!

Comments: Awesome! I love this racquet as all the comments here are accurate. Started playing GB about 2 years ago and will never buy another brand. This was meant to be a backup to my current 165T but thinking it will become my primary. Great value!

Comments: I love the racket.  I have only one complaint. the black plastic on top of the racket. In time the plastic has not stayed flush with the frame.  the protruding plastic has sharp bends on it.  I have scratched myself on more than one occasion during a miss swing. I am now looking for the same type of racket without the plastic

Comments: Just bought two of these. Had played with them when they first came out years ago and then graduated to the successive GB iterations. I was going to get this years Beltran 165T, but didn't feel like shelling out $450 for two. Bought these and couldn't be happier. Forgot how well they hit . . . my mechanics have improved over the years and these hit even better than before. Great racquets at a great price. I look forward to using these for 2016 season. Also got the new Legend Ally Yellow/Black bag and love it!!

Comments: (8/14 update) This is a follow up to an initial July 2014 review. I've played about 40 hours on the new GB250 after getting it less than a month ago.  It hasn't broken yet.  I'm pretty happy about that.  Power and control are as good as the Ektelons (varied, near top of line) or Harrow Connect.  Serves are currently better than the past few years, but I have been working on that, so I can't positively credit the racquet.  I do like the all black racquet.  I have added string savers (a tennis thing) in the sweet spot.  It slows string wear considerably.  I would buy another GB250. My review is similar to most.   I broke four or five Narrow Connects.  I asked around for a durable racquet recommendation and heard about this racquet.  I did the demo this week and bought one after six hours of play.  Good power.  Good touch.  Now if the frame just won't break while hitting the ball.

Comments: I bought this racquet and have been playing with it for about a month ... I love it.  Besides the stealth look, it feels great, provides plenty of power, and handles front court touch shots amazingly well.  It took me about two weeks to really fall in love with it, but it plays like a $200 racquet (whatever that means).  I didn't need a racquet, but I've been wanting to try GB and this deal was too good to pass up.  My primary racquet has been the Harrow Soverign, which I purchased last summer and is a great racquet ... Now I've got to decide which to use.  Tough call, they're both great racquets.  If you hit with 170s, you can't go wrong with either one of these, I prefer both of these to any of the Ektelon or Head racquets that I have played with (no experience with E-Force or ProKennex).

Comments: Bought this racquet used from a friend. It has been very good to me. My shoulder pain has disappeared since this became my primary racquet. Power is good, control is decent. Has taken quite a beating and keeps on ticking. And I should add, the guy I bought it from seems to regret the sale a bit, as his luck/success with other racquets hasn't been as good.

Comments: This is a great racquet! Solid power and great control. I'm coming from e-force, which has more power, but not as much control. To me the trade off is well worth it, especially considering the price! I went with the factory strings, which are solid, although the tension is a bit high for my preference.

Comments: Purchased this racquet without knowing very much about it. I read some reviews and took a chance. The chance was well worth it. Its a solid racquet with decent power and feel. It definitely took my game to a higher level. I would highly recommend this to the average player who wants to step it up a notch.

Comments: Coming from a Head intelligence I.165 to this racquet..what a difference! Great amount of power, much more then my head racquet. The feel, the control, the 0 vibration..this racquet feels like pure quality I'm glad I bought it. Gearbox really did it right on this racquet. My head racquet was great so this is saying allot.

Comments: This racquet is basic, uncluttered, pure and simple without gimmicks, gadgets or marketing hype.  No rings, tubes, chambers, cores, ports, inserts, internal strings, etc.  Just a solid racquet with exceptional feel, maneuverability, and power.  The raw graphite frame is attractive and durable, the grip is comfortable, the balance point is not to head light or head heavy, and it is very "arm" friendly.  This is definitely one racquet that can bring your game to the next level and be played with for many years to come.  Thank you Gearbox for bringing this "classic" unsophisticated racquet back.

Comments: I used the Ektelon 03 white racquet for several years.  I loved that racquet but had problems with durability so I decided to try this Gearbox racquet.  It is awesome!!!  It took a little while to get used to it but it is well balanced and has a ton of power.  I have had it for about 6 months now have had no issues with durability.  Highly recommend!!!!
