Comments: Big change in the latest Ovation red gloves* READ>> Been using Ovation for many years. Orange ones were awesome, with a great combo of quality/price. The red ones came out with cheaper leather, but overall still seemed to work pretty good and the contoured fit was still very good. (Grip: Some were too small, so they fit tightly.) *Just got a new 6-pack and discovered the textured leather grip feature is GONE. Smooth leather now. Other than that they still seem to be made pretty well, so I'll try them out. (NOTE this means the photo on the website is wrong, no textured leather.)

[Thank you Derek; the images have now been updated to show the new smooth leather palm. -RbW Staff]

Comments: While this glove may seem like an upgrade to the previous orange Ovation (better aesthetics and pinky reinforcement), it does NOT use the same leather PK is known for. Nowhere in or on the packaging is there a reference to "Pittard's Quartz Cabretta" like there used to be. This leather still feels soft, but the material is not quite the same and the texture is different. Be warned that this is NOT simply the same glove (with upgrades) as the old Ovation. I'll be switching back to Pure 1s...hopefully those still use Pittard's.

Comments: Shame on Pro Kennex for naming this glove the Ovation.  It is nowhere near the quality of the discontinued orange Ovation.  It's made totally different.  Gone is the quartz design in the grip area.  In its place is the cheap rubber grip like several other brands offer.  It's a totally different, and in my opinion, inferior feel.  Hey PK - bring back the orange Ovation!  For now, I guess I'll be buying the Pure1 glove since it's a white version of the original Ovation.  Hopefully PK doesn't ruin that one too.

Comments: Love this glove but only has 1 draw back - The mesh design is great, but the added protection to the pinky and next finger seems to be where the sweat collects and the glove starts to feel heavy and slips. If they removed that and just went with total mesh on the top this would be the best glove ever.
