Comments: This is a great string if you're looking for good pocketing, a soft feel and controllable power. I think this plays better in 12+ ounce frames, like most of the younger open division players carry in their bags. The 19mm, 12+ ounce frames allow this string to deflect perfectly, giving the right amount of feedback to the wrist when taking a full swipe at the ball, and if you have an aggressive volley it will reward you as well. In my earlier days I enjoyed playing this string in the Prince Original Graphite. Now, as a senior player, I've opted for a lighter and more forgiving Head Microgel and an even softer string, Forten Sweet 17.

Comments: I use this string in a hybrid setup. I use this as a cross and Luxilon 4g as a main. The combo is just amazing. If you use this string only it will break too soon. So by using this and 4G as a hybrid, I prolong the life of my strings and experience great feel.

Comments: This string is absolutely terrible! It felt good the first day on my K Six One Tour 90 at 55 pounds, but started to fray after the first day and eventually broke after a few days. I use a big semi-western grip for my forehand and use a lot of spin. If you're a hard hitting player who uses a lot of spin, do not get this string! You will break it very fast. You might as well put the money into better string that will last longer and in the end cost less money. I would not recommend this string.

Comments: This is great string at a great price. It has a lot of feel and not too much power. Also I noticed that the older the string gets the more spin you get out of it, which is kind of strange as usually the older a string gets the worse it gets.

Comments: It is a good quality string, however it is not durable. I have broken at least 5 strings with it on. I don't hit with that much power or topspin and yet it still breaks fairly often. Maybe that is why the price is just so good.

Comments: The white version of this string is one of the best for feel and playability at a joke price. If you use in hybrid set thought, the poly will cut through this string within a couple of weeks. Doesn't matter if you use in cross or main, it will always break before the poly. However, this is not so bad because most poly strings lose tension after a few weeks and if you leave them in until they pop, well they usually go dead before then anyway. I love this string as main @ 58 lbs with Luxilon BB Orig 53 lbs in the cross. Tried the same tension using Bab Tonic natural gut and the ball was flying like crazy. At 1/10th the price and better control it's a no brainier!

4.0 baseline topspin player but also serve & volley.

Comments: This string does offer excellent durability, it lasts over a month and feels pretty good. It's not the best or worst string I've ever tried, but it holds tension and doesn't move too badly. This string is an excellent value string. I would recommend it for the recreational player. 5.0 player, western grip heavy topspin forehand, one handed topspin backhand. 1st serve gets up to about 110-115. I use a Babolat aero pro drive 16x 19.

Comments: This is just a great value string - end of discussion. Joe, if you are a high school player with big topspin and a 100+ MPH serve and getting one month on these strings you are doing better than 90% of the high school players I string for, so enjoy. Or you can use a copoly and have arm problems in several years. Just my take.

Comments: I've experimented with many rackets over the years. I settled on Babolat AeroPro Drive. I'd been using hybrid Big Banger Orig. in main w/Prince Duraflex in crosses. After a little break for winter I started hitting a wall just to get my strokes back and found I was lacking consistency and precision. My balls seem to be flying all over the place. When I played out on the court, everything was sailing long. I decided to dig out my old Wilson Pro Matrix 85(prototype for ProStaff) as I have on and off over the years. And though it's not very powerful, the precision and control of my shots came right back. I began to wonder, am I just better off with the classic small frame? Or is it the strings? What is it? Now I've had that classic frame since 1986 or so when I bought it new. I still have the same strings on it that it was strung with when I bought it. The Prince Synthetic Gut 16 original white. I played regularly back then for a couple of years. Then it spent the better part of the next 15 in the closet. I got back into the game about 7 years ago and have played heavily ever since. I must say there's a certain feel and control I get from that classic but I've been reluctant to restring it because I wasn't sure If I'd be able to find the same strings. It seems to have held its tension quite well after all these years. It was probably strung around 60-63 lbs and I'd say it's at least 58 at present. I've developed heavy topspin and after many hours of hard hitting, the strings are only showing very slight signs of wear and fraying.I just ordered a couple of sets of the Prince Orig. Syn Gut and will test them out on my other rackets to see if I get similar results. But as far as I'm concerned, and mind you I broke a lot of strings using hybrids on the Babolats, the Prince Syn Gut Orig are the strings for me.

Comments: Despite all these good reviews, I'm sorry to say that this string has bad durability. I play competitively in my Jr. High School and I hit with a lot of topspin and have a 103 mph serve. This string broke in a month, a month where I didn't play a lot. Great string for the beginner, but if you want I string that lasts, I suggest Babolat or Wilson or even other Prince strings.

Comments: Save time and money. This is the string. I tried them all and spent a lot of money. They move around a bit after a few sets but you got to deal with it until you need to restring or they pop. They do lose some tension as well after a few long sets or less. Forget about the other versions (Duraflex, Multifilament, whatever...) I went back to these strings and I am as happy as a recently bathed dog... Friendly on the arm too!!!

Comments: I purchased this string to compare to the Prince Synthetic Gut with Duraflex and other synthetic gut strings I have tried including Head and Gamma. I string the synthetic gut in the crosses with Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough in the mains. Of all the synthetic guts I've tried, this string has more feel than the others but, of course, is not as durable as the Prince Synthetic Gut with Duraflex. In fact, this string feels the closest to natural gut of all the synthetic guts I have tried. Even though not as durable, if you want a natural gut feel, especially in a hybrid configuration, this is an excellent string for the money (less than $4/set).

Comments: I really don't know what people were talking about with the durability. It broke in two weeks. I don't think I even hit with that much spin or that hard. I'm just a beginner who started this year. Usually strings would last at least a month, and these strings lost tension after the first week already. I read these reviews and thought I'd be getting a good string. I was wrong. They did have a nice touch on the first day though. If you're planning on spending money every day for a good string I guess this is for you. I'm not made of money so I'll be looking for a better string that'll last longer.

Comments: This string is the best all-around synthetic gut string. Period. This string is soft enough for people suffering from tennis elbow, has an above-average in playability for power, control, and spin, and this string provides the best feel for synthetic gut strings. Since I have a stringer, durability was not an issue for me. A full set of PSG lasted for about 3 weeks. Spin production was okay - my racquet (Prince O3 Tour) provided exceptional spin, so it was not an issue for me. This is also a powerful string, with intermediate control. I didn't like the tension retention, however, because the ball soared off the baseline one too many during the second week of playing with it. I would highly recommend this string for beginners (because it is a fairly average string), to all-court players, and to recreational players. I do not recommend this to string breakers.

Comments: I'm a user of Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power in my Nsix One Tour 90. Just thought I'd try this string cause I'm looking for cheaper alternatives. From the 1st hit one thing was BLATANTLY obvious: the lack of spin. My shots didn't bite into the ground and viciously spring at my opponent. The string also felt a bit low in power and a tad stiff. Of course compared to Luxilon Big Banger the spin of this string is dismal. I had to exaggerate the uppercut/brush action on my groundstrokes. If hit with tons of topspin, this string is not for you. Serve and volley players should give this a try though.

Comments: Very crispy at first too crispy for me. Then it settled down and became muted and playable. It lasted much longer than I expected; longer than duraflex. It's a very nice syngut, but that's all it is in the end, a syngut. High end multis out perform it. I prefer the consistent feel of Toa Leoina 66, and it's cheaper.

Comments: Prince Original Synthetic Gut 16 is a great string for its value. It's very durable and I found it much better than every Head synthetic string I've tried. You can also select from a various amount of colors. I liked it, and would recommend it to any player who plays 3 or more times a week. If however, you are looking for higher-quality strings and money is not an issue, I would go with the Luxilon strings. But overall, a nice strong durable string from Prince.

Comments: This is the best string I have ever used (compared with Gamma Live Wire XP 16 and 17, Gamma TNT 16, Kilp Excellerator 16 and 17). I particularly like this string because it plays like a 17 gauge string (very good feel) but doesn't break as often; albiet it breaks faster than other 16's I have used. The price is a huge plus ($4 compared to up to $20 for other high-end strings, and this plays like one!).

Comments: I used this string on a Wilson Original Pro Staff at 62 lbs and it has outstanding feel and pretty good power. However, I broke the string after just two days of practice, but then again I am a notorious string breaker. From a playability standpoint this string gets an A, but from a durability standpoint it gets a F. However, it is a very cheap string so it may not hurt the wallet too much.

The Prince Duraflex and regular synthetic guts are the best bang for the buck. They are great, long lasting high performance strings at a great cost, and isn't that all we really need?
