ProKennex Kinetic Quad 500 165 Racquet
+ Demo Racquet

The popular ProKennex Kinetic Quad 500 165 Racquet received updated cosmetics while maintaining all of the standard features from the original model. The new graphite and copper colors create a clean, streamlined look that catches your eye and really pops with a second look. The Kinetic Quad 500 has all of the ProKennex technology including Kinetic Technology for stability and shock reduction, Quad Technology for stability and durability, and String Suspension Technology for lively stringbed response. A 191 gram strung-weight makes this is a great racquet for intermediate to advanced players who want a stable, forgiving frame.

Comments: While I haven't demo'd or played with this latest model of the Quad500, I do play with its predecessor 3-4 days per week.  If it plays as good as it's predecessor, it's a great racquet.  I write this review primarily to express my agreement that PK should really get away from their traditionally odd grip size.  I also play with a Carbon 195 which has an industry 'standard' 3 5/8" grip and it handles much better.

Comments: I read a review that this racquet was freakishly accurate.  IT IS!!! The ball goes  EXACTLY  where I want without even thinking about.  A minor con is that it feels a little heavy for a 165.  A MAJOR con is the "ping pong paddle" grip, it's fine for forehands but if you try to turn the racquet slightly for a backhand grip, the stuff gets all out of wack.  If not for the odd grip this would be my favorite racquet.

Comments: Demo Review: I liked the control and power of this racquet but the grip size and shape was just weird. The racquet needed some vibration dampening as well. Not for me...

Comments: Demoing this one was interesting. The strings (ProKennex Pure Liquid 17) played great. Good feel and excellent response. Not sure what it was about this frame that felt so different, perhaps the grip shape was just too strange. The frame had some good control and power but again, it made me feel a little uncomfortable with my shots.
