The benchmark for stability and durability, now with more comfort and a more flexible feel than before.

Coming from a long history of being the most stable and durable shoe on the market, the adidas Barricade has been updated with even more comfort and a flexible feel, while maintaining the protection where it is needed most. A key feature carried on from previous Barricades is the Torsion System, which creates a very stable ride and will hold up to the most aggressive changes of direction. This update features an asymmetric hidden lacing system, which provides secure lockdown and keeps the laces protected on the medial side for hard court sliders. The comfort has been enhanced with foam pods in the heel region for step-in comfort, as well as the full length BOUNCE 2.0 midsole for those players putting in the long hours on court. The durability has been increased due to the adituff recycled material placed at the toe and medial side of the shoe, for those who are sliding and dragging on the gritty hardcourts. This shoe features a Tennis Warehouse six month outsole durability guarantee.
  • Upper: Mesh upper for increased flex and ventilation, with an asymmetric lacing system, neoprene tongue, and hidden laces on the medial side. Medial side and toe region features ADITUFF recycled material to protect from foot drag. High performance yarn makes up 50% of upper from Parley Ocean Plastic and other 50% is yarn from recycled polyester.
  • Midsole: Full length BOUNCE 2.0 midsole, with Torsion System TPU midfoot shank to maximize lateral stability.
  • Outsole: ADIWEAR rubber compound for high wear durability. Herringbone Reload tread design for enhanced abrasion resistance in high wear areas, and lateral edge caters to hard court sliding. This shoe features a Tennis Warehouse six month outsole durability guarantee.
  • Color: Black / White / Grey

Most uncomfortable shoes I've wornI'll do the pros of this shoe first. The shoe is lightweight and it has a strong, decently grippy outsole that is perfect for sliding. Also has good flexibility in the shoe as well. Now onto the negatives. This shoe is the most uncomfortable pair of tennis shoes I've ever worn. It has the 6 month durability guarantee on it but even if I wear through it, I will not use the durability guarantee on it. The style of the laces may look good on the shoe but in terms of feel, it is awful. The grommets to hold the lace holders in place sit on top of your foot and push into your foot the whole time and it gets to a point where I have to take my shoes off during changeovers.

Love it!I have been wearing the Barricade since its inception and although some versions have been better than others, this is a winner. Sturdy. Lighter than previous versions of the Barricade.

Great BarricadeNot sure why there are so many bad reviews on this shoe. I have gone through several generations of Barricades but over the past couple years I switched over to Ubersonics (good but not durable). I tried the Barricade 13's (Boost 2.0 version) based on some really good online reviews. I liked them so much that I bought another pair before they sold out. This shoe has good cushioning, stability and speed. I can't comment on durability yet but so far I have been impressed.

Bad for your feetI use the adidas Sole Match Control. I burned through the bottom in less than 3 months. I decided to try the Barricade for the 6 month warranty. Break in wasn’t as bad as the previous versions but toe jamming is real and the bottom of my feet were constantly sore. Finally decided not worth it. Never again. Sticking with the Sole Match Control even if I have to buy a new pair every 3 months as my feet never hurt with these.
