Overview

The Yonex EZONE Midweight pickleball paddle features a more traditional shape, plenty of power and expanded sweetspot. The 15mm. polypropylene honeycomb core contributes to the size of the EZONE paddle's sweet spot, and also does a great job at minimizing vibration. By utilizing a proprietary carbon graphite lay-up, integrated with a thin glassfiber layer, Yonex is able to produce a responsive feel that caters to plenty of manageable power and pop. Additionally, a micro-particle coating is applied to the surface of the paddle, for improved ball grip and dwell time, providing optimal feel and control on every shot. The Midweight EZONE model weighs in at an average weight of 8.11 ounces, which supplies a little more mass-based power compared to the Lightweight example, which complements power from the back court, without sacrificing touch, and feel near the kitchen. The EZONE paddles are matched with a 4.25 in. grip diameter and 5 inch handle length, resulting in is a very user-friendly paddle that caters to players of all levels.

Yonex EZone MidweightPros: - This paddle feels very comfortable to hold and swing. It has a perfect balance...not head-heavy and not too head-light. - The hexagon grip is made just right for gripping and switching from forehand to backhand or continental grip. It is light enough for quick exchanges at the NVZ. - The paddle surface allows for very good spin to produce quick dipping topspin shots. Slicing is good as well. - Control and soft game is easily achieved with it. Cons: - The paddle surface is too soft so it is easily GOUGED (as in deep scratch) from hard court debris or fraying in plastic balls. - This paddle is a tad short on power. Returns against hard serves and drives tend to go shorter than desired. All in all, a pleasant PB paddle but with glaring shortcomings considering the high price.

Great quality and solid feelAs yet another new PB player coming from a tennis background, I found the famous Yonex quality construction was present in this paddle. You can really drive the ball, and this "heavyweight" EZone paddle has a nice solid feel to it.

Holy cow!I'm a fairly new pickleball player, but came over from tennis in college. I played with Yonex racquets in tennis, so demoed both of the Yonex paddles. This paddle says it's geared more toward versatility than the VCORE, but I got just as much spin and control if not more from this paddle than the other. Both paddles were great, but this one had literally everything I needed in a paddle, and is bar none the best paddle I've ever held.
