Overview

Gosen AK Pro CX offers a comfortably crisp feel with an exceptional balance between power and control. Spin potential is quite high for a non-poly. Our TW playtesters found it easy to keep the ball in play on full swings, which is pretty impressive considering the comfort. This one is well suited to players with longer strokes who want control and durability without sacrificing comfort.

Great string for arm happinessI've had tons of elbow issues. This string gives me enough spin and control, and for me its the closest thing to a poly that is definitely not a poly. Way easier on the arm. I string it at 48 lbs. Play three times a week as a 4-4.5 player. I do hit with a good amount of spin, so I break strings about every five matches.

Love this stringThis string lives up to its description. An arm-friendly, spin generating string with good power and control.

Disappointed !I purchased this string based on TWU tests. Even with a tested 0.074 S2S friction the snap back was very bad even with a very slick cross string. I've contacted the manufacturer in Japan. Overall the string underperformed in all areas

Gosen AK Pro CX 17I compared this string to Gosen AK Control 17 in my two Warrior 100 Pros. CX felt a bit mushy compared the Control. Plush. The ball kinda disappeared when it hit the strings. I didn't love that. But unlike Control, it had great snapback. After hours of play, the string still looks perfectly straight, which was not the case with Control. I wish I could combine the firm feel of Control with the snapback of CX.

Comments: This is an amazing string. The 17g I use as a cross with Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable gives me a ton of control, soft feel, and a decent amount of power. It's definitely not a power string, but I have an 18x20 racquet, so I'm all about controlling the ball during play anyway. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Very arm friendly. It's supposed to be a monofilament or a nylon core wrapped in multi filament fibers and a slick coating.

Comments: I use this string in a hybrid setup. Luxilon Element 16L in the mains and the Gosen AK Pro CX in the crosses at 48 pounds and 53 pounds respectively. I have mild soreness in the elbow, but prefer polyester strings for the spin potential and durability. The combination of the two is outstanding. The Gosen provide just enough crispness to offset some of the plushness of the Element. It seems to be holding up very well. They do appear to hold their tension very well, after nearly 20 hours of play. I highly recommend this setup in a hybrid. They are very comfortable, but also provide a more crisp feel than some of the multifilaments I have used with the Element. This is my go-to cross string.

Comments: Very good string. I tried polyesters, but don't like the feel or harshness tried many multifilament and synthetic gut strings. I've been using Gosen Microsheep 16 economical decent soft muted, comfortable durable for synthetic gut, but this string is definitely an upgrade from that. I strung it up on a beefed up 346 gram Dunlop Srixon CX 200 Tour 16x19 at 58 pounds. This string feels more crisp, but still extremely comfortable with more snap, power, and bite, I feel like I am getting just as much spin with this string as I do with polyesters. The ball was really jumping off the court and dipping sharply with good pace. It allowed me to hit tighter, shorter angles, and gave me more confidence to take big cuts at the ball. Good string that I only played with for a couple hours, so far so I can't speak for durability yet. I break most synthetic gut and multifilament strings in about six hours of play. I will be ordering more.

Comments: Strung at 55 lbs on a Babolat Pure Aero (285g). Durability : Lasted 6 hours of intensive rally. There was very little tension loss. The spin was excellent from the outer nylon coating. Requires hours of stroke adjustment to gain power and ther was great control as the string pockets very well. My conclusion, the CX fiber complimented the nylon in durability and tension maintenance making it the almost perfect tennis string. It gave me that crisp and soft pocketing feel of a nylon and at the same time control like a polyester. Tennis has never been this fun.

Comments: I have been using this in my Head Speed Pro for a year. This string is good for the tighter pattern. The 18x20 pattern matches the string really well -- it improves the control and is arm friendly at the same time. Good spin potential compared to other soft strings. I recommend this to all tight pattern racquet users looking for an arm friendly string which will help add spin.

Comments: I have been playing with the AK Pro and thought I would try this string since it is on sale. Strung it up for my Volkl Organix 8 at 57 lbs. Played with this string for couple hours and it is very arm-friendly but it is more muted than the AK Pro. I had a hard time controlling the ball, while I have great control with the AK Pro. I am going to stick with the regular AK Pro.

Comments: Just strung it at my Dunlop M3.0 at 60 pounds> Good control, arm-friendly. Before, I used a full bed of poly. You can feel the difference of hard and soft. Highly recommended.
