Ultra-lightweight, low to the court, and backed by a 6-month outsole warranty!

Building on the success of the previous version (Wave Exceed Tour 4), this Wave Exceed Tour 5 is even lighter than before, providing an explosive feel, and a high level of comfort. New to this version is the Enerzy technology, giving more rebound into your step to help maximize foot speed. The upper material is very light, and flexible to enhance the comfort, while also providing plenty of ventilation. Mizuno's DuRubber outsole is resistant to the wear and tear of gritty hard courts, and our testers found some added give when it came to the traction, which works well for those who slide into their shots. Backed by a six-month outsole durability guarantee.

  • Upper: Lightweight 3-D Solid upper provides a comfortable fit, durability, and breathability.
  • Midsole: Enerzy high rebound material to maximize energy return into every stride. PoWnCe offer lightweight, and responsive cushioning. D-Flex Groove enables greater flexibility for pivots and turns.
  • Outsole: DuRubber increases durability to high impact areas, and is formed into modified herringbone pattern for traction on any court surface. Backed by a six month outsole durability guarantee.
  • Color: White / Dress Blue

Comfort and speedLike wearing a cloud. It’s lightweight but it has the support and cushioning you need to give it everything on the court. I’m picky with shoes and after a year of trying five or six this was made for me. I have a medium arch and often suffer from sore, stiff feet.

Lightweight and ComfortableMy foot measures 13.5 and the 13.0 fit perfectly. I also have a medium to narrow foot at the heel and a high arch. These feel like they are custom made for me. I hope they don't change a thing about them for years to come. My previous shoes were adidas Barricades in a 14.0 which were tolerable but slightly wider, much heavier and off in length. The Mizunos are so much lighter and I feel much quicker on my first steps and small adjustments. Thanks to the TW expert for recommending them!!!

Super light with amazing comfortI've been an avid Yonex shoe customer for the last five years - until they recently destroyed the Fusion Rev franchise with the V5 - not sure who in Yonex approved that shoe but it has to be on the worst shoes of the year list - swapped to Mizuno - never tried them before - this shoe has it all - it's not for the foot slammers - if you're a speed player, who is light on your feet - this is for you. No break in, my 9.5 US weighed 320g - hard to beat for speed.

Patellar TendinitisI’ve been pretty active in both XC and tennis for the last four years and have had no injuries other than tennis elbow and now patellar tendinitis. For what it’s worth, these shoes are very fast and are comfortable in the uppers. Approaching the net was a breeze. Three months in after buying them, my knee starts giving me pain. After a docs recommendation I switched shoes. Instead of being able to hit for an hour then dealing with pain etc etc, my new shoes let me keep going with minimal issue. Either way, rest, ice, compress, elevate. Even though it’s a very lightweight shoe, it should still not come at the cost of your body, especially since durability (of the outsole). is one of this shoes selling points, i.e, you’re not supposed to throw this shoe out in 3 months. Back to the tried and true Gel Resolutions. Take care of your body guys :)

Great Performance ShoeShoe fits true to size, is light weight and great fitting. Has cushion feeling and better performance than their light version.

Liked the wave exceed 4 betterBought these for my son who loved the Wave Exceed 4. These just weren't as comfortable and did not fit as well. We returned them. The tongue is weird and there wasn't enough padding compared to previous models.

A little disappointed for the priceThese shoes are light, speedy and stylish. But they offer very little ankle support and have almost no cushioning. They sit too low to the ground for me. And the tongue is short in length and very thin which isn't a good thing imo. I feel like like I wasted a lot of money on these things and now I'm stuck with them. I'll never buy these shoes again.

Runs bigI ordered my usual size (9.5) but they run big. Waiting to receive size 9 - but they are out of stock - blame the supply chain!

Watch OutVery poorly constructed shoe. There is not much of any structure to the shoe itself. It reminds me of those running shoes that resemble a natural foot. My first time wearing it on the court I moved laterally and rolled my foot out resulting in a severe high ankle sprain that includes ligament and tendon tears. Now I am walking in a boot for the next few weeks. Needless to say I will not be wearing these shoes again.

reminds me of Nike Breathe Cage 2Like the title says, it reminds me of the old Nike shoes. Durability is great, breathability is great. Sizing is a little off. I would get at least half a size down, maybe even a full size down. Someone else noted the thin tongue -- yes it is on the thinner side but I haven't had any discomfort. A very light weight shoe with good breathability and durability. Can't ask for more.

A new alternative to previous linesJust tried these out on the court yesterday, and I have to say these are really good. For comparison, my favorite shoes to play in were the Ubersonic 2, Vapor 9.5, and Zoom Cage 3; mostly quicker, lighter shoes. I did not enjoy the Gel Resolution or adidas Barricade lines because they were a bit clunkier to me, but the new Ubersonics and Vapors have been disappointing so I didn't have a shoe that I liked until the Mizuno Wave Exceed 5. I will say one downside is that I like to slide on hard court and it felt impossible to do that because the traction was so solid and tacky, but after wearing down the tread a bit that should go away. I'm curious to see if the 6 month outsole guarantee will kick in seeing how light this shoe is.
