Overview

OG Sheep Micro is Gosen's traditional synthetic gut with good all around performance. This thinner 18 gauge is more playable and slightly less durable. This consistent playing string is good for all seasons and any weather conditions.

Compared to OG Micro Super, this string has a thinner center core. The result is a slightly softer and more powerful response than OG Micro Super.

  • Gauge: 18/1.15mm
  • Length: 660ft/200m
  • Composition: Synthetic Gut (solid core surrounded by nylon filaments)

45 years on the courtThis string is excellent for crosses because it is thin and lets the mains work more freely. It is not expensive, so I can import it more easily.

Oldie but goldieUnderrated string, mostly due to price I guess. Best string to set up in a hybrid array. Soft, plush and with great feedback.

18g synthetic!Gosen OG 18g, has met my expectations. I use this on my cross string on my 18x20 Prince racket, with Solinco tour bite or hype g (19/20g) on my mains. I have been looking for a reel of 18g synthetic for a while. I couldn't find this product via a normal key characteristic type search; I had to search via Gosen products, specifically. Thanks TW!

Gosen Micro OG 18I'm a 4.0 player that hits topspin on both sides. I string a hybrid setup with Vokyl Cyclone Tour 18 in the mains and Gosen Micro OG 18 in the crosses, 40/38. I don't think you can get a better synthetic for the price. It has good power, good spin, good durability, but I recommend stinging it a few pounds tighter than you want because it does lose tension. Overall I strongly recommend this string, pardon the pun, but a great bang for the buck.

Comments: I got a reel of Gosen 18g (1.15) in October 2019 and have used it on both mains and crosses strung at 62 and 58 pounds respectively. Some main string movement when heavy spin shots. I'm a 3.0 player and do string myself every 6 to 8 weeks. I've found it very responsive in strong cross court shots, with plenty of spin and control when desired. For its playability and price, it will be very hard to get a better string at twice the cost.

Comments: I have been using this on my racquet since 2010 on the APD Plus and Pure Aero Plus. I string myself on a Prince 5000 machine and hybrid the mains with Polylon 17g and crosses OG Micro 18g at 45 lbs. Hoping to break every 5-6 weeks but sometimes it lasts longer than that. It offers good feel and ball pocketing.

Comments: Bought a reel based on comments and price. I've used it as crosses for poly mains and it helps soften up the bed. I prefer using it full bed in my 18x20 Prestige at 50 lbs. Really pockets the ball and is soft on the arm/wrists. Hitting with heavy spin, the strings break after 6 hours or so of play. Having a string machine and backup racket and low string cost makes it a no brainier. It is also easy to string with. I wouldn't try this 18g in a racquet with 16 mains or less because it won't last long. In the racquets with 18 mains though, it really helps to get more feel on the ball and lasts long enough.

Comments: This is an excellent string. Forget it's low cost. I have used it as a full bed and as a cross with poly mains. It's all good. Nice feel, easy on the arm, plenty of pop depending on how you can handle lower tensions, and holds up surprisingly well on clay. I do my own stringing so at $3/set every 2 weeks I cut out the old and put in the new. Been playing with the string for 5 years. Now my tennis buddies use it. I'm a 4.5 senior player.

Comments: I used Gosen on hybrids on crosses with a poly and it feels great and has a lot of power even though the poly is low power. I didn't play tennis for a while and put the Gosen on the main for more feel and power. It feels even better and stringing it low at 50 lbs with a poly on the cross feels really really good. The best set I have tried.

Comments: Gosen 18 is an excellent cross string to use with your poly main string. I have never used it in the mains yet.

Comments: Bought reel of Gosen OG sheep micro 18 a couple of months ago, for the purpose of using it on the crosses for hybrid. At this point just have not had any reason to go to another cross string, even though I have more expensive string around. Gosen just seems to really enhance the feel of the co poly I use in the mains. (Currently TF black code) I plan on replacing the reel when I run out. I have noticed that there is plenty of pop available on demand, but I really like the controlled feel of the set up.
