Overview

With roots that extend back 40 years to the original Black Ace 93, this racquet features the legendary engineering of one of the game's most experienced racquet manufacturers. At 11.2 ounces strung, the Black Ace 300 is weighted for intermediate players. It should also work for the advanced player who wants easy acceleration or a platform for customization. As part of the new Ace Station series, this racquet's synchronized technologies are designed to deliver more control and feel than racquets in the Q+ and QuadFocus lines (both more power oriented). In addition to its time-tested Kinetic Technology which uses movable mass to increase stability and power, the Black Ace features FlexLogic to help the racquet bend optimally at impact. The upshot, according to Pro Kennex, is reduced head deformation at impact combined with increased dwell time, giving the shot-maker heightened command over the ball. Other notable technologies include a Kinetic Comfort Handle System which reduces harsh vibrations for a cleaner feel at impact. From the baseline this racquet offers surgical targeting and great feel. Intermediates will appreciate the raw speed, making it easier to whip up heavy spin or crank winners on the run. On service returns the Black Ace comes around fast to deliver an extremely precise response. There's also enough touch on volleys to drop the ball short. Intermediate and advanced players looking for a light player's racquet with excellent control and feel should give this one a serious look. The arm-friendly feel is a very nice bonus.

Solid and stableVery solid and stable for an 11.2oz racquet. Super easy on my wrist/elbow and more than enough power when strung with Lynx Tour at 48lbs.

MrI have been having pain in my elbow. It is a medial epicondylitis. The 300 gram weight is perfect for me at this moment. I have been able to play well, with power and not hurting my elbow.

Comfortable with a consistent response & spinBought this racquet to help with my sensitive elbow issues and was not disappointed. The racquet has no vibration and the string bed has a very consistent response for good control and excellent (!) spin generation. It's perfect for camping on the baseline and hitting spin shots all day. Power was good but could be better. Mis-hits landed in but short. My most offensive shots were hit deep with high bouncing spin. The head shape reminded me of my old PK Composite Dominator though is larger at 100 sq. inches (compared to 90 for the Dominator). Serving was easy especially kick serves and I was very steady from the baseline with few errors though put away shots were few. The balance is perfect for my 1-handed backhand. I am very pleased with this purchase but as a senior player wish PK would come out with a slightly larger version with similar playability and a bit more power. If you have elbow pain and want an arm friendly racquet that's easy to play with then get one of these. My rating is really 4.5 stars.

Exceptional Frame! The Black Ace 300 is a player's frame. As a former D1, this stick allows me to play my best tennis. From the baseline, I can control my shots, play creative, and attack the net with confidence. Feel and control are unmatched. Don't let the 300 gram unstrung weight fool you. Tt's solid and you won't get pushed around with good strokes and mechanics. I play mostly on clay and the open 16x19 pattern complements my heavy topspin game. The 320 swingweight makes serving and volleying easy.. just point and shoot. You'll also enjoy the maneuverability while playing doubles or on faster surfaces. As an aging player, I never have to worry about elbow, wrist, or shoulder issues originating from this frame.... the kinetic technology is legit and rock solid. Play my Black Ace 300s in stock... strung at 55 pounds with Prince original synthetic gut.

Best raquet so farI had a problem with my elbow for two years. I used the Head Gravity Tour and it's a very nice racquet. But I use a lot of topspin and I want a racquet that helps do that. I tried the Clash Pro and it gave me good spin, but terrible problems hitting flat. Then I tried the new Yonex VCORE Pro 100. Great, but not enough power. I then tried the Prince Phantom 305 and is great, but anemic and not the most maneuverable. Then I tried this. Wow. ProKennex Ace 300 is a spin machine, but nice for flat too, great control, enough power to be a weapon. Perfect racquet for me! I started with a Pro Staff and think this is very similar, but arm friendly! I don't have ProKennex in Mexico, so I took a risk. The was the best decision I've made in tennis. I've finished my racquet quest after 2 years.

Previous Feedback

Comments: I bought this racquet based on my previous good experience with other Prokennex racquets without demoing it. Boy, I was surprised to feel so much vibration from the racquet head. It did not hurt my injured wrist, but did not feel good either. I had it strung at 45 lbs with Technifibre X-One Biphase, but the vibration drove me crazy. I also demoed a Wilson Clash 100, and I liked the Wilson better.

Comments: I demoed this racquet along with the Wilson Clash 100 and Yonex VCORE 100, which have similar specs to the Black Ace 300 as far as the head size and the weight. The Black Ace 300 felt most comfortable and provided more control than the others. This racquet may not shine in one area, but is solid all around. The Wilson Clash gave me a very inconsistent and unpredictable response, while the Yonex VCORE 100 has great spin production, but lacked control. Lot of my balls were sailing long with VCORE. Overall, the Black Ace blew my mind and I decided to go with this stick. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid all around racquet and also to players suffering from arm/elbow issues, as it is a super comfortable and maneuverable racquet.
