Updated with a softer feel for 2024

Babolat adds another chapter to the Pure Strike 100! With its 100 square inch head, this stick delivers a more forgiving and powerful response than the 98 16x19 but it still gives aggressive players the needed control to select ambitious targets. With its sub 325 swingweight, the Pure Strike 100 swings easy, and it packs more than enough spin potential to bring the ball down sharply. For this update, Babolat doubles down on control and feel by adding both a more flexible beam along with FSI Control technology, which features tighter string spacing for an even more precise and predictable trajectory. To maximize vibration dampening and comfort, Babolat combines NF2-Tech (flax fibers) in the shaft with SWX Pure Feel (viscoelastic rubber) in the mid-section of the head. This racquet also benefits from Control Frame Technology, which blends square and elliptical cross sections to deliver a stable hitting experience with excellent ball feedback. Ultimately, with subtle updates to the feel and response, the Pure Strike 100 remains a great option for intermediate and advanced players looking for a speedy modern player's racquet with controllable power and great feel.

Arm-friendly and versatileI switched from a Pure Drive Tour (which I ultimately found to be a little sluggish due to the extra weight). I tried the standard Drive, Aero and Strike 100, and chose the Pure Strike. Plenty of spin and power, wrapped in a more arm-friendly package. I was able to significantly reduce shoulder discomfort by switching to a frame with more flex.

Incredible upgrade from Gen3My kid just finished testing the TW Demo strung with Babolat Xalt 1.30 at 55lbs. Her current racquet is the Strike Team Gen 3 setup at 5 points headlight and the net weight at 315 grams. (Strung with various poly anywhere between 47-52 depending on temp. The feedback I got from her right after the third hit was that “it’s insane” and, OMG - repeat 20 times! Unfortunately, I don’t play tennis but I am the “racquet guru” so I judge by sound and visual. Bottom line: the control is unbelievable! Net clearance about three feet over the net, drops very close to the baseline and ball will kick up at least five feet. The racquet promotes confidence! Go at it all out, and still land close to the baseline. Visual differences between her third generation and the new one: the "V" is about 10-15mm longer on the new racquet and I think this is how Babolat softened up the frame. Overall, we are sold. By the way, we also tested the 18x20 (ordered it by mistake) and it’s not bad, but definitely less spin with the tendency of ball going long (due to less spin). The 18x20 is also a great racquet but my kid is only 14 and cannot generate enough spin with the heavier racquet. I am sure it would work well for older juniors and perfect for adults. Going to order the 16x19 100 as soon as it’s on sale. Huge thank you to TW for letting people test before it hitting the market!
