Overview

Introducing the TF40 305 (16x19)! With this racquet, Tecnifibre introduces a new model to the TF40 family. Unlike the original TF40 305 (launched in 2019), this racquet packs a modern 16x19 string pattern, giving it easier access to spin along with a slightly higher launch angle for easier depth. It also has the phenomenal control, pocketing and feel of the first generation TF40s. Although this model is lighter than the TF40 315 (16x19), it packs a higher swingweight (321-RDC), making it slightly better at plowing through the ball or redirecting higher levels of pace. That said, it still has enough speed for whipping up heavy spin, hitting shots on the run or reacting quickly at net. Technologies include a stable RS Sharp beam along with Dynacore XTC for extra touch, dwell time and pocketing. This racquet also has Foam Inside for a more solid feel at impact. Ultimately, with its impressive combination of spin, precision and speed, this is a great option for intermediate and advanced ball strikers. The great feel at impact is a nice bonus.

MagicalAfter demoing and playing dozens of racquets, my playing partner and I each ended up buying the TF 40 305, 16x19. Nothing else "clicks" quite the same way. Terrific control and terrific spin, with plenty of power for an advanced player (who is presumably generating their own power). I've let other people borrow my racquet as well, and so far, everyone loves it.

Good but a tad overratedAfter so much hype, I had to try this thing. This racquet defines "good at everything, great at nothing." It performed almost identically to the Head Extreme Tour that I hit with two summers ago. And that's not a negative as the Extreme Tour is a good frame. Coming from the Prince Phantom ultra flexible racquets, I expected a 64 flex with a much thicker beam and foam-filled construction to be way more solid. I even added some weight and still didn't find the stability I did with the Phantom's. Did hit better then in the second half of the session so I'll give this one another whirl over the weekend. But so far, nothing earth-shattering to report and planning to go back to the Phantom as of now.

Comfortable and solidI took a circuitous route to this racquet that ran through the Head Gravity Pro, Tecnifibre T-Fight 315, Pure Strike 16x19 and the TF40 315. For me, the TF40 305 (16x19) was easy on my arm, had a generous sweet spot and held up well against heavier hitters. I also didn't feel that the racket was particularly underpowered (and I am far from being any sort of advanced player). In its stock form, it felt a little unstable to me, but after adding 4gs of lead tape to the handle (underneath the overgrip) it has been really solid.

Comfortable AFNo matter the shot, racquet feels very comfortable in the hands. Probably the foam construction? Whatever it may be, I'm a big fan.

Best Tecnifibre for feelBy far, this is the best feeling racquet of the TF line and certainly one of the best feeling racquet of all racquet brands out there. The downside is that this racquet is quite under-powered so you have to have good technique and hit the sweet spot. I think it may feel a little better than my 1st gen Dunlop CX200 Tour 16x19, but for now I'm sticking to the Dunlop as my go to racquet. I'll certainly continue to play this racquet as I personally like to play many different types of racquets in my collection.

Best frame I have hit withI played with a Pure Drive 3 years prior and I liked it a lot. I then switched to the old Tfight 300 xtc which was a very solid frame. I then switched to the Tfight 300 RS which was even better in my opinion than the xtc as it was stiffer and offered more control. 3 months ago, I switched the the new TF40 305 16 19 looking for more control and precision, after trying the Ezone, Solinco Whiteout, Pure Strike, and Blade 16x19. It was by far the best out of any of these racquets, and much better in my opinion than the 18x20 version in terms of feeling. I have been playing the best tennis of my life and I couldn’t be happier.

A fantastic racquetI had been playing with the original version of the TF40 305 18x20 for about a year. I really liked the racquet with great control and great feel, but I had a hard time generating spin. This was mostly fixed by switching to a poly string (Hyper-G soft at 45 lbs), but I was starting to feel tenderness in my arm and wrist. I then switched to this newer version, the TF40 305 16x19, and have been loving it. It still has a similar amount of control as the 18x20 frame, but it is much easier to generate spin and has a bit more power. The lighter swing weight of the 16x19 also enables me to generate more swing speed. Overall my serves, forehand shots, volleys, and slices have all improved with this TF40 305 16x19 frame. The one weakness is I feel like the lower swing weight has slightly diminished the plow-through of my backhand. However, I have only been using the racquet for about a month so I am still adjusting my swing. Overall, I have been extremely happy with this racquet, with tons of control, a great feel, and now the ability to generate topspin and slices. I'm a 4.0 player in my mid-40s and have been stringing it with Tecnifibre Triax at 52 lbs.

A Modern Classic!I switched to this from a Head IG Radical Pro, and have enjoyed it greatly so far. I love that Radical to bits, but I was looking for something that could maintain that great blend of a classic feel while giving enough pop for a modern topspin-based baseline game, while being a tad more forgiving than the Radical. This racquet fits that very well. I do give up a tiny bit of precision compared with the Radical, however I think its worth the trade-off for being easier to use. Added a leather grip and a little bit of lead at 12 to bring the swingweight closer to the 18m, which makes this a very well-rounded and balanced setup.

replacement of donnay pro oneAfter getting back into tennis from my high school playing days (30yrs ago!) - I found this racquet to be the best feel for replacing my old Agassi Donnay Pro One. I still loved my Pro One but the head/grommets were deteriorating and this racquet has the best feel for me.

Great RacquetGreat, flexible frame thats easy on the arm and great from the back or up at net with a plush and stable contact. You do need to bring your own power and fast racquet head speed to get the most out of it but it's not-too demanding weight helps with this. Also string low - 50 pounds or around there, this seems to work best with the racquet, keeps the sweet spot large and gives a little boost of controllable power and great ball pocketing. If you're not afraid to swing big and attack the ball, this frame will reward you!

Great racquetTecnifibre did a great job with this update. Really liked the last version, but like this one even more. Less muted with a more direct feel. The 16x19 still provides great directional control, while giving a bit of added spin. Will continue to play with this one.

Great follow upLove the 2nd Gen here of the TF40 305 line -- the 16x19 open pattern makes the frame that much better. Great feel and control and more than enough pop and spin. The addition of foam into the frame gives it a great / solid feel at impact and a great response.

UncomfortableAdmittedly, I bought this without demoing it first, I went off the specs and the playtester reviews. Big mistake and I own it because you should always try before you buy. This frame is extremely low powered even for a control racquet. Off-center hits feel jarring and the racquet feels unstable. It feels unusually stiff considering it's low RA rating and anything hit outside the sweet spot the ball just loses tremendous power. I can't understand how this racquet playtested so highly. Maybe one of the worst racquets I've hit with in recent memory. I strung it with Ice Code 17g at 52 lbs and I've considered changing the string set-up, but I'm so disappointed with the racquet itself that I think I would rather just sell it.
