Previous Feedback

Comments: Both broke after short time of use (about total 4 hours play). I can pull it and break it easily. Feel like the material is very aged.
From: Chen, 1/3/22

Comments: My son and I love these dampeners. They give the racquet a great feel. Unfortunately they only last about as long as a set of strings if you're lucky. As others have said, the plastic hooks on the end break off. I'd happily pay $2 if they lasted for a year or so, or pay $0.25 if they break all of the time. However the current combination of high price and low quality has me searching for a replacement.

Comments: I am a varsity high school tennis player, though I am on the lower end of the spectrum, and I must say that these dampeners have made a huge difference on my game. I have used them on two different rackets now, a Wilson N-code Six-One and a Volkl Tour Scorcher, and they have had a dramatic effect on both, especially the Wilson. I have seen them break, but I think some of that may be the user's fault (not trying to blame anyone). If the worm gets stretched out too far or threaded unevenly through the strings it won't stay in place and will break easily. Overall, these dampeners are great, they maintain a nice level of feedback while eliminating the unnecessary amounts of vibration and shake.

Comments: Not worth the money, definitely if it breaks after 20 minutes of having it on. The black holders on the end come off very easily. If you can get them to not come off then it is a very good dampener but other than that not worth the buy.

Comments: Three years ago I bought 4 of these dampeners. They were by far the best I have ever used. After 3 years i still have one of the 4 that I ordered. In April 2010 I bought 4 more and 3 of them are broken. The first broke at the hook before I even played with it. They seem to be made with much less quality, and the material even looks weaker and thinner. I used to love this dampener but if I have to stop during a match to change them because they broke, or they break every time I restring a frame, they are useless to me. I will find something similar in another brand, and i really would not recommend this dampener to anyone unless they don't mind wasting money.

Comments: Great dampener, but the plastic hook snaps right off. I bought a two pack and snapped the first one on the first day. The second one snapped after 5 weeks. Both times I was receiving serve and the ball hit the dampener. I guess that can't be helped. I still recommend this dampener, just keep your eye on the ball.

Comments: I really like these dampeners. They stay in place until you take them off. I've been playing with them for a couple of years and they've never popped off (unlike the other ones that just pop into place). The only way I think they can come off is if you don't put them on properly. Make sure it's stretched evenly over the strings.
From:Kristin, Los Angeles, CA, USA. 05/09

Comments: I like this and other "hook on" dampeners but real tired of how easily these things break on one mis-hit. This, the Gamma Shockbuster and the Head Smartsorb all suffer the same problem, it's way too easy to break that plastic thing on the end. Bam! Couple of bucks gone, just like that. Since I'm getting older and not better it's unlikely I'll improve my strokes to the point of not mis-hitting so I'm done with these. Sticking with the ones that simply pop out.
From:Rick, Washington DC, USA, 10/08

Comments: John in Washington, DC must, respectfully, be referring to another dampener. The worm does not have a fluid filler like some of the dampeners do. They work by surrounding the string with material like small rubber fan blades. The worm is the only dampener I will use. I am a benchmark 4.0 player and I have to agree that all of the other dampeners are pretenders.
From:Steve, Vero Beach, FL, USA, 07/08

Comments: Probably the best dampener on the market. I've been playing for about 15 years and never felt the kind of solid, compact, and true feel you can get from this dampener. This takes away the annoying sounds and completely cancels the slightest uncomfortable vibration - immediately. I'd recommend this to anyone.
From:Kenny, Allentown, PA, USA, 05/08

Comments: I missed hit one return serve and the ball hit the damper and busted it. Black goo came oozing all over my strings and on my hands when I removed it. I normally just use a rubber band or nothing, but my racquet has a really high pitch ping that gets annoying. Bottom line, I won't buy this product and I don't recommend it if you return fast serves.
From:John, Washington, DC 09/06

Comments: Comments: Finally a dampener that does not fall off or move around after each and every hit. No more worrying about losing the $5 dampener you just bought. The forten worm wraps around your strings creating a great feel each time you strike the ball and remains in the same place after each hit. GREAT DAMPENER!
