Overview

This is Wilson's more control-oriented version of the popular Sensation string! Sensation Control is an arm-friendly multifilament, ideal for all levels and styles of players looking for the playability of a natural gut but who don't want to break the bank. Compared to regular Sensation, Sensation Control has added LCP Ribbons in its construction, making it slightly stiffer than regular Sensation. This means it's going to feel a little more muted and have more control. It's a great update to Sensation for the big-hitting modern game!

Comfortable and Soft quality multiI prefer this string as a cross string in a polyester hybrid. It is comfortable and provides relatively good control for a multi when used in a full bed. Very similar to Head Velocity. Both are better value than Tecnifibre Biphase and NRG2 with similar levels of comfort, more spin and better tension maintenance. I wish the reel would also come in 17 gauge.

Comments: I had my Clash 100L strung full bed at 48 pounds. It felt okay but not as good as the NXT Control 16 gauge at 50 pounds. I might try 50 pounds and see if the strings move less and I have the control I was looking for.

Comments: I strung my Blade 104 v7 at 57 pounds with this string. I had no preconceived notions about it. I was very pleased with the control and feel. There was plenty of pop to make good strokes even better. There was no movement in the stringbed either. All in all, a good multi for the price.

Comments: Love these strings. Switched from NXT 16 and find Sensation Control to have a little more bite and control -- and a little less power. They also fray less than NXT and seem to hold tension better. (Strung at 55 lbs in a Prince Textreme 95 -- I'm a 4.5 singles player.)

Comments: Soft, durable multi with medium resilience and low tension loss. Good for an all-court player and touch volleys, not killing the ball with big swings. Use the TWU similar strings tool and string comparison tool for the specs. For example Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex 16 has a tension loss of 20% and Wilson Sensation Control 16 has a tension loss of 14%. This TWU data suggests that WSC16 can be strung at 3 or 4 lbs less, in order to have similar tension when broken in, and it should play consistently for a longer time. I have used WSC16 in a full bed and currently have it in two hybrids. This string feels good to the touch and is kind to my arm -- from my own tests on an old stringing machine. I'm a 65 year old 3.5+ doubles player and play several times a week.

Comments: I strung my Pure Drive Roddick with this due to some tennis elbow because the racquet is pretty stiff and I wanted to soften it up some. The racquet is powerful enough already so I thought a regular multi would be too much power. This string did exactly what I was looking for. Softened the string bed and still gave the control that I needed. I would recommend this string to anyone looking for an arm friendly string with not too much power.

Comments: Strung this at 56lbs (one pound off my normal tension) in a Blade98 (18/20). Initial feel was a tad stiff as compared to the standard Sensation string. About 6 hours into playtime the string is starting to loosen up a tad and feels quite responsive. Very limited string movement and nice control on the ball. If you considering stringing your 98sq or smaller frame you may want to drop 2 lbs off your normal tension to test.

Comments: I hit the ball hard and flat, this string is perfect for my game. The string lives up to its name, great control for my flat balls and slice serves are a dream. I found I could place my serve anywhere I wanted particularly with my slice. Really comfortable on ball impact, easy on the arm. Fantastic string and at the price, you can't do any better.

Comments: This is an excellent string for power hitters. It's so-so for spin but flat shots can be hit likebullets. The string does move around a lot but not so much that you have to constantly re-align it. With my old Hurricane I'd been struggling to put away mid-court balls, but this Wilson string really let's me rip the ball from inside the service line. It's my new favorite cross string!

Comments: Just a fantastic string. I never have been a fan of 16g strings, but since this doesn't come in any other gauge, I had no choice. I was very impressed with this string. The LCP wrap is subtle but makes a big difference. Unlike regular multis, you can really feel these strings grip the ball. And they don't feel like a trampoline. Very comfortable, good power, and great spin/control. Not super durable, but I don't expect that from a multi so no points taken off for that.
