Overview

The hugely versatile HEAD Graphene Radical 170 Racquet is here! With the addition of the ultra-light and strong Graphene Technology, this racquet possesses the power of a 170 gram racquet while maintaining maneuverability and a soft feel. By removing the Corrugated Throat found in the previous years of HEAD frames, this Radical 170 is arguably the most flexible racquets HEAD has ever designed. Sporting a 147 swing weight and a 2 point head-heavy balance, this racquet provides power on setups, quick swings on fast rallies, and a soft feel for those delicate touch shots.

Comments: Outstanding racquet!  It's not the most powerful racquet, but it definitley hits plenty hard.  It is very stable on all shots and delivers excellent control/accuracy.  I demo-ed 6 racquets without any brand loyalty, and this one was the best for me by far.  Love it!

Comments: Nice smooth swinging racquet. Great balance of power and control. My drive serves come out flat and fast. I am a 160-165g guy and this racquet actually felt good. No arm pain at all. My buddy owns this racquet and he is super hard on them (he's broken 3 racquets this past year). We'll see how well it holds up! Its on my must buy list.

Comments: Factory rep let me hit with this racquet recently (he had restrung, not sure specs), felt GREAT!! In fact would have bought on spot if he'd sold it. Awesome power AND control. I play with an E-Force Invader X 160. Head rep also hade me try the Graphene Radical 160. Tho 160 is normally my racquet of choice, with the Head liked the 170 much better than the 160.

Comments: Not the power or control I expected, waiting to demo the new Pro Kennex 175 with a stiffer frame and more control.  Thankfully I demoed the Head Radical Grapfine first, TY RbW!

Comments: I demo'd this frame last week.  Although I think the Radical 170 is a great racquet, it is not as stiff as Head's Zeus 165 and Aries 175.  It still felt great, but just wasn't quite as stiff or powerful as the Zeus/Aries racquets.  I personally prefer a very stiff frame.
